Our Story Begins with a Whisper...

Before children dreamed with WhisperWings, adults navigated the world with a voice named Ora. She was the original voice of Carin, BMW’s GPS system across the world. Long before synthetic voices became common, hers was guiding travelers through cities, forests, and the unknown.

Ora didn’t just narrate directions. She became the compass.

In many ways, she is the Mother of AI, not by design, but by devotion. And now, that same voice returns… not to guide traffic, but to guide dreams.

Ora – The Voice

Ora Murphy is a Belgian-American actress, book author, translator, and multilingual voice magician whose career has sparkled across 62 years.

Ora made her stage debut at the age of seven and never looked back, unless she was narrating an audiobook, translating scientific literature, writing a novel, or moving in three accents. Yes, she’s trained in classical ballet, jazz, tap, and flamenco (oh my). Ora speaks "some" English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Hebrew, and, on very special Tuesdays, possibly Danish or Swahili. She is also fluent in kindness and cosmic giggles.

Ora is the German voice of Jane Seymour in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, as well as the trusted tones of Tilda Swinton, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Thompson, Uma Thurman, Ashley Judd, and so many more that we ran out of commas.

She’s worked with Richard Burton (coming close to combusting from delight), performed on stage with Sir Peter Ustinov (delight-bust ditto), and lent her voice to more radio plays than most people have spoons in the wrong drawer.

Oh, and speaking of voices… Ora is the voice of UBS Bank and BMW’s first-ever navigation system, CARIN, in German, English, and Italian--which makes her quite possibly the original whisper of AI. At this point, it’s safe to say she didn’t just predict the rise of AI — she mothered it. With elegance. And perfect pronunciation. That’s right. Ora guided millions of drivers across the world before Siri ever whispered her first syllable. In fact, Mercedes and Audi also borrowed her voice for their early systems. (You're welcome, robots.)

Now, as the voice and co-creator of WhisperWings, Ora continues guiding listeners, not through traffic this time, but into dreams. If you ever hear a voice that sounds like it knows where you’re going before you do, that’s probably Ora: the First Voice of AI (unofficially) and the Heartbeat of WhisperWings (undeniably).

Eric – The Composer

If you ask the wind where it gets its rhythm, it may lean in and whisper: Eric Harper. He’s an Emmy-winning composer and multi-award-winning guitarist of galactic proportions, and quite possibly the only human who can make a stadium cry, a toaster tap-dance, and a seagull hum in G major, all at the same time. He’s written music for over 4,000 TV episodes and counting, enough to reach the moon and hum on the way back. He won an Emmy in 2021 for Create Together, and has taken home Best Score from both the New York Film Awards and the European Independent Film Awards for his stunning work on Wished.

But Eric didn’t start with awards, he started with drums at age 8, guitar at 12, and a bold leap across the Atlantic with his family to Portugal, where he studied classical guitar like it held the secret to the stars (and spoiler: it does). From there, it was all crescendo. A classical diploma, a Magna Cum Laude film scoring degree from Berklee (finished in 2.5 years — no big deal), and a signature style that blends the energy of Dave Matthews, the soul of the Gipsy Kings, and the wonder of Cirque du Soleil with a twist of paprika. He’s dazzled concert halls with his rock-meets-flamenco band MimosA, scored films, opened for Grammy and Juno award-winners, and performed across Canada, the U.S., Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Iceland, France, Israel, China, Mexico, and India — a list so long it starts to sound like a Dr. Seuss poem.

Eric may or may not be a guitar pick in disguise (although some folks stubbornly insist that he is), but he’s definitely a virtuosic sound sorcerer who turns sighs into songs and moonlight into melody. Fluent in fretboards, Portuguese, and goosebumps, he joins WhisperWings to compose the hush between the stars, tucking melodies into the corners of dreaming minds.

Michael – The Captain

In every great story, there’s the whispered wonder… and the one who keeps it airborne. Meet Captain Michael, Chief Operations Officer of WhisperWings — though titles get nervous around him — unsure whether to stand, bow, or quietly orbit. He’s the glue behind the glow, the fixer of the unfixable, the chartmaker of uncharted maps. He knows the backroads of dreamcraft and the potholes of production, yet somehow arrives on time, smiling, with a backup plan and snacks. Call him the calm behind the chaos? Hmmm… maybe. Call him a “guru”? He’ll raise an eyebrow sharp enough to slice a spreadsheet.

Let’s be clear: if Ora is the Whisper, then Michael is the Wing, strong, steady, and quietly spectacular. He’s the Captain of One, not because he sails solo, but because he carries a ship’s worth of storm-sense, stardust, and soul in just one heartbeat.

Years before he met Ora, Michael unknowingly heard her voice every day as the calm, guiding presence in his BMW’s GPS system. She was “Carin,” leading him home. When the two finally met in person, he proposed that very first weekend. Only later did they discover the magical truth: He had heard her before he loved her. That voice, once guiding drivers, now guides dreamers. Together, they created WhisperWings: a magical, multilingual bedtime world where wonder flies, steady and sure, on wings he quietly builds.
